Don't recall the subject ever coming up (no pun intended) in the house. My mother caught me once (details elsewhere on this board) and asked me what I was doing, course with my hand around my dick, what do you say.? Ah, nothing, around that time she must have realized what I was doing and somehow just left. It was never discussed and my guess is she said nothing to my father.

I did forget one instance in the living room with my mother. Don't recall the exact build up, I think I was sitting on a chair reading the newspaper and she was on the couch. I am quite sure the tv was on. I guess I just got one of the for no good reason other then I was 15 and a male who was breathing erections. perhaps when i had "the talk" with them, they mentioned it as something that people did without having sex...but i honestly can't remember.
i was never caught by anyone in my household growing up (to my knowledge), so it never became a "house" issue...and i was only ever caught by a roommate during my college years, so parents where never really a factor.

My parents never said a word to me about sex, but they would check out these books from the library about puberty and leave them on my bed, and the books would say masturbation is ok and healthy. I think they were totally ok with it, but were too shy to talk about sex, just like me. I still felt super guilty about it. I was brought up in a "proper" British household. Like many, they never talked about it one way or the other. I suspect they knew I did from long stays in the bathroom (true!) to sneaking the Sear's catalogue for the lingerie and bathing suit pics. But they never "caught me" and it was never discussed. From the general atmosphere and culture I grew up in I "knew" it was wrong and often felt guilty aftewards... I've gotten over that!
