Several years ago I purchased a remote controlled one, a clit massager, for my girlfriend's birthday. We went out to dinner and I had her wear the thing. I think it all depends on what you are looking to accomplish. Like susie said...the old style, basic hard plastic vib ment for cliteral stimulation gets the job done. (usally quite quickly) I also like one that is made of Cyberskin. It has a very realistic look and feel of the real thing and is ment to be used for cliteral stimulation as well as pennitration. It's nice when I'm looking for some long alone time. The basic buzzing vib is more for "gettin off"

Over the years I have bought a few for GFs. The last one I bought was a rabbit type. The best part was asking the girl at the store what to get, she got all into it saying how good this one was, but said the cheaper model is about as good too, just cheaper. Depends what you're buying it for, of course - the one I'm recommending isn't for penetration but is great for clit stimulation - a Natural Contours vibrator called Jolie. When it arrived I was slightly put out, as I couldn't believe I'd paid so much for something so small. But boy was it worth it. It's the only vibrator that has brought my wife to multiple orgasms (she manages two sometimes with me or a toy if she's really into it), and its also waterproof - we had fantastic fun in the bath with it just this past weekend.

And I've just checked whether its still available - it is, lots of places - and spotted amazon have it at half price at the moment.
