I'm average size also, but at times I can look small flaccid. Other times my boys like to stretch out and I look pretty good flaccid. Yeah that has to be a tricky situation. You figure if they saw you jerking off from a distance and approached you then they must be cool with it, but you don't know if they did. So maybe you could stand up and "accidentally" drop your towel and gauge their reaction. If you get a "it's natural, don't worry" you could follow up with "can I just leave it off then?" That's been the hardest thing for me to read into nudism. Some women seem angry when they see an erection, others either have no problem, enjoy it, or are flattered by it. So maybe the woman was one of the later.
