Love reading everyone else's feelings and experiences here (great learning experience, makes you view everyone you see differently, remember we are all naked under our clothes) but doesn't everyone think/feel the way we do? I mean doesn't everyone like/love to have their crotch played with? Are we just a small percentage of the population, if so, may be that is why people look at me funny, I think we are all the same and I guess my conversation will go tooo far for some people's comfort zone.

I feel we are probably a small percentage though I still talk like I feel differently, perhaps that is why I easily offend some people (I don't mean to do this,it is just my personality ).

Thinking of the naked comment above , I first began to view people like that after I got involved with a nudist club. It can give you a sexy outlook on anyone you want/desire. Under those clothes is that sexy body you desire, in all it's glorious form.

I don't think "we" are a small percentage, in the sense that most people masturbate and/or enjoy sexual pleasure and sexual contact with others.

We may, however, be a small percentage in the sense that we openly discuss (well, as open as you can be on an anonymous forum) masturbation, what we like, what turns us on and gets us off, or even share pics of ourselves and/or our favorite porn images/vids...

So, the forum may be a small percentage, but I think the greater interest is out there.

I agree that we may be a small proportion of the general population in that we talk and share masturbation experiences, and I also think that we all should be proud of doing it!

It seems faintly ridiculous that in the 21st century, frank discussion about wanking is still taboo.
I would think that 95 percent of men and a good proportion of women masturbate on a regular basis, so we in our own way are simply voicing the activities of the many.

I don't know about anyone else here, but getting people -even close friends- to discuss the deed is very difficult, and they normally end up thinking you're a weirdo pervert if you enter into the subject too deeply.

Paradoxically, I've always found women to be slightly more open about it than men. Also of a surprise to me is that of the few women I have managed to get to open up about it, some of them have said they don't bother any longer because they can't reach orgasm. This to me seems a real shame

This is a great question. Just by looking at the statistics on the porn sites of hits, and how large the porn industry truly is. I have to think it's that it's normal both most people don't talk about it. I mean, what is the point of porn if you don't masturbate to it?

But even if we are a minority, I don't care, because I'm glad I'm a masturbator and proud to be one. As aforementioned, we as a community with ideas to share on the topic is rather minimal in numbers, but sex has always been the restrictive characteristic within our astringent and varying moralities. It's the basest of differences that we can discerningly pinpoint from one another, as it's [mostly]easy to tell male from female. I think this is only true because we as humans are generally modest about our appearances, and that by covering ourselves up with clothing, we feel that by hiding what we think is the initial difference between us and half the others, there is something to be preserved, and something worth perpetuating said modesty for. I mean, all of us are absolutely enthused to strip down to our bare skin in private or with a consenting partner, but even as thrilling as it would be to do, none of us would really strip down in public as such and still make an exposition of our pride, save for the fact that you bear the strongest of inclinations, or you were long inclined to be a nudist anyway. For those of us who can be verbally open, but not as physically open, we don't have any such urge.

But, my point is, given that we're all modest, that most people will keep this to themselves. We don't distinguish the reservation of others here because we know that anyone who comes here will be open about their experiences, so we are openly and gladly aroused by one another's thoughts. But, most people, I think it's an inherent modesty that keeps people from being more open about something like this, as if it's exploiting something you were meant to have wrongfully, given that men will always be men, and women always women (well, save for surgery, but you get the point). Moreover, I think this is the reason why we confide in friends more so than family or, obviously, strangers...because there isn't such a looming fear of being judged as strangers may do, or that family members will do, questioning your morality and possibly your dignity. If we were all the same gender in the world, people would masturbate every day without question, and most would be as blithe as we are with one another, which would be absolutely wonderful (well, the prospect of it, given our restrictive situations), but it's hard to be open when the conformity makes it necessary not to do so.

I sometimes wonder if we enter another world when we come into this site. I dont know one person who wanks, yet in reality probably many of the people I know enjoy the pleasure its just a taboo subject. I would tend to agree with this. I am more open to discussing my sex life than anyone else I know, even my wife. She's a bit reserved. I asked her one day if she ever fantasied about having sex with anyone else, and she replied that she only fantasied about having sex with me. Personally, I found that hard to believe, but then, I never really know for sure.

And I think on forums like this, people tend to be more open and honest about it because in one sense they're "anonymous" to some extent. Those of us who share pictures, of course, probably exhibit more exhibitionistic tendencies, I suppose.

That is an interesting question. I know I would probably be too shy to bring it up, but if others did I would find it exciting and would likely open up if it was clear that others were finding it interesting and especially if they were getting turned on by it.
