What is an estim unit?

This is an electronic stimulation unit, similar to (but apparently not the same as) a TENS unit for pain relief. I think there were some news stories circulating about it being an 'instant orgasm' device. I've never come across it (excuse the pun) but TENS units have been around for years now.

I'm actually into hobby electronics and the idea intrigues me.
Needless to say, anything involving electricity and the genitals (or any other part of the body- especially the heart) needs to be treated with extreme caution and you need to know what you're doing.
