Male Porn/Sexuality Survey

Hey guys.

I tend to add this to my posts anyway so I thought I'd just start a thread.

I'm conducting some research on male sexuality, and I hope to publish the results in the future. The primary motivation is to discuss the evolution of male sexuality and the prevalence of bisexuality as the primary sexuality.

I'm also open to serious discussion on other aspects of male sexuality, I'd like to know if there's anything I need to address in any work that I may have missed. So please let me know what you think.
I have already completed some work on discussing the prevalence of masturbation in relation to male/male fetish, cultural differences in attitudes, the aspects which combine to create male sexual drive and so on.

Ta da! Finished. It was a good survey. You seemed to cover most of the possibilities of what you're trying to study. Do you have any college background in psychology or sociology? I'm taking soci right now, and that seems a good survey. It made me think at times.

I'm just a writer with an interest in psychology and sexuality.

The validity of an anonymous survey has been questioned by one previous participant, and he even suggested that it was "leading". Personally, I don't think it is at all. The options are there to give an opposing view for exclusively heterosexual men, if that is the case. Turns out that's not actually the case in the majority of respondents.

I can see why some might think that, if they don't see the connection between male/male sexuality and masturbation, but that's what the research is for; It's to look into the prevalence of male mutual masturbation across sexual identity.

Something that I hadn't considered prior to the start of the survey was the dominance of true bisexuality in society. I don't like the labels and I don't like using them, but results seem to show that the vast majority of men who label themselves as heterosexual express some same-sex desires. And this does seem to manifest almost exclusively in male mutual masturbation.

It's certainly fascinating, and I'm determined to release the research either in book form or (if no publisher is willing) I'll publish it myself.

I have to say though that a lot of those questions are situational. Frankly, there are some friends I'd trust in those situations and there are others that I would not. I tried to reflect that in my answers. Although, if you do this in future, I suggest "Depends on the person" in some of those questions.

Yes indeed, going through some of the responses, there is a clear indication that it all depends on whether the respondent has a close male friend that they would engage in such activity with.
I do intend to make an initial question based on friendship in the next version, and then build on that so I can see the responses of those who have a close bond with a male friend as opposed to those who don't. I guess I just assumed that all guys have a very close male friend, but I didn't consider that even in those cases there may not be any sexual openness between them.

I'm not sure how I can include this in a future survey, but I was considering finding specific "types" of males and offering them as images, and then proposing "if any of these guys were your closest friend..."

Either way, I will certainly be including more focus on male friendships and compiling data on the responses of those who have existing close male bonds as opposed to those who don't.

I can only speak for myself, of course, but for me its not a matter of attractiveness or body type. Its purely a matter of trust as well as belief systems. I'm not going to expose my desires to someone I cant trust at all with that sort of information and most of my friends would fall into that category, in fact, right now, the vast majority of them. I do have friends in which I can trust that kind of information and I do trust them.

My reactions to those questions would be far more dependent on whether or not it was someone I could trust as opposed to how attractive or unattractive I found the person.

Of course! I'm a little shocked I didn't consider something so basic already, but I realise I really haven't.

That's another great piece of advice, I wonder why I didn't consider this?
It might be because I am attracted to more about the male body I suppose, I just didn't consider this aspect.

Thanks, I'll make sure I adjust the next one to include such terms instead of focusing purely on the physical attractiveness.

I'm now working on an entire chapter relating to male friendship, focusing specifically on trust.
