Should One start gymnastics?

Good Morning fellow Yahooers!

Howdy, Howdy Howdy !?!?

I am considering starting gymnastics and I am seeking the advice and opinion of actual gymnasts, not plonkers who are here to waste time.

I've traiend in karate and taekwondo for several years. I'm a male, 17 in 3 weeks and 6 ft 1, very tall for a gymnast. Beside all this, I am really interested in startign gymnastics and I feel considering I can already to the splits and I have been given great flexibility, I should out it to some good use.
I am lean, with a BMI of 21 and I can do good cartwheels and am starting to do aerials and would like to train with actual gymnasts .Does any Yahooer who has been in my position or who is a gymnast have any advice for me on how to get my foot in the gymnast door?
