When I was a teenager living at home, I shared a bedroom with my grandmother (in her 70s at the time - this was during the 1970s). Nowadays, women don't have to bother with the sleeziness, danger, or wading through shelves of male-oriented porn... she can simply get on the internet and see or buy whatever she wants from the privacy of her home. She doesn't have to be embarrassed about it because no one will know or question her.

I've been in the Adam & Eve store in Charlotte three times now and every time I've been there were women in the store and, in fact, the workers have all been women. The last time I was there, there were two women workers and three women customers looking at the toys right along with me. This store is very clean and neat, it is located in a strip mall type shopping center right along with the normal types of stores you see there and there are no booths. I can see where women would be very leery of going into one of those stand-alone sleazy sex stores that are located out by themselves, with no windows, etc. In this store I've been to, the entire front wall facing the sidewalk is glass so you don't have that trapped feeling like in those others.
